Lots of Wonderful New Releases From Paper Couture

Paper Couture has released lots of attractive releases which includes outfits, hair and accessories that all have a very "Paper Couture" look. Lots of frills, lots of flowers, sweet designs, soft and simply lovely colours, which are all very attractive for that sophisticated and feminine look.

I had so much fun shopping and decided to show three outfits today instead of writing lots of text as I believe you can get the feel of the collection from lots of pics.

The first one is "Jasmine Vest" a very sweet casual look that consists of a shirt, vest and short pants.

The next one is "Beaded Wildflowers." This is a gorgeous cocktail dress with voluminous puffy sleeves and a very silky slim skirt that looks so elegant and yet luscious.

The last one is "Wrapped Paper Roses", also from Paper Couture. This a lovely one piece dress with a sculpted belt with two large flowers made with the same texture added as an accent. The dress form is simple but the texture used adds interest and elegance to this set.

I may add that these are only a few of a much larger collection, which are all as attractive as those shown here. It's certainly worth a shopping trip but make sure you bring lots of lindens with you as I am sure you will need them!

New New New At Phoenix Rising!

One of my fav brands, Phoenix Rising just released a LOT of new items! The reason why I am saying a LOT and not giving any numbers is because I am feeling lazy today and I didn't want to count all the new items. But that's how many new items have just hit the store.

Phoenix Rising - Natasja's Seduction

One of the outfits that was released that I absolutely loved was "Natasja's Seduction." I must say, the name of the gown was the first thing I noticed. What a sexy name to give to a gown! But after I saw the vendor picture, I knew exactly why. The gown IS sexy.

The top of the gown almost looks like a classy french corset with exquisite black embroidery on colour. The one I got was red but you can choose from red, slate, rust, aqua, purple, pink, ice and gold. Eight colour variations in all. And as with many of her outfits, Ashoka Eales, the designer, has given us variations to the style.

The first pics I have are the prim gown styles where the outfits will be a sexy and coquettish outfit to wear to any formal occasion. If this seems over dressed, you can always wear it with a pencil skirt with black stockings or as a fancy lingerie with stockings, garter and a prim tail that attaches to the back.

Either way, you are also given optional pieces of a necklace called "Key To My Heart" neckace as seen here, and a prim neck collar which reduced the 'lingerie like look' if you wore it with the prim gown or pencil skirt. What I liked the most about this prim collar is that it was fully modifiable. In other words, you can not only stretch it or shrink it, you can also resize it in the three directions given in SL represented by the red, green and blue colours. In other words, there is no more fuss about fitting the size to your avatar. I often wish all designers gave us this choice with prim parts as it is so frustrating when you cannot modify prim parts or even if you can, you can only resize it without changing the proportion. In other words, even the resize scripts that are often used with un-modifiable prim parts do not allow us to get a complete fit as it only resizes the whole thing, so this is so much better!

Kudos to Ashoka for giving us this resize permission!

Outfit: Phoenix Rising, Natasja's Seduction (Red)
Necklace: Phoenix Rising, Key To My Heart (incluided with the outfit)
Hair & Hat: Naughty Designs, Show Girl (Black)

A Cute Party Mini Dress From Miamai

Miamai, which I blogged about only a few days ago with a dress that had a slightly grunge, or goth image to it, has just so many styles that I had wanted to show some of the other outfit types that the designer offers.

Today is one of such outfits and this time, it's a very sweet and yet sexy party dress.

Miamai - Mini Sequin Blue

This is a mini dress with the top part translucent while the skirt part has some delicate glitter on a velvet like material. The silhouette itself is very simple but the ornaments that cover the delicate areas on the top play a big part in making this outfit look very interesting and elegant at the same time. This outfit comes in four colour variations, blue, red, pink and purple, that have different colours for the gillers but the outfit itself is the same colour.

I wore a pair of turquoise coloured snake gloves that were, in fact, a fat pack of coloured gloves offered for free at ALB Dream Fashion. This is not a colour that you will find often and this fat pack is a good item to have in your inventory with the array of colours offered by designer, AnaLee Balut. In the case of this outfit, the addition of gloves gave it a very party dress feel and I loved the combination.

Since the dress itself has very little material volume and I didn't want to make my feet look heavy, I chose a pair of diamond sandals that is made by Bandit Jewelry but also sold by Jador. For hair, I chose a relatively voluminous hair for the same reason.

I'm all set and all I need now is an invitation to a party. :D

Mini Dress: Miamai, Mini Sequin Blue
Gloves: ALB Dream Fashion, NINA gloves snake (turkis)
Jewelry: Bandit Jewelry, Akita Sapphire Pearl Bracelet and Earrings
Sandals: JPB Jador Shoes, "Eternity" White Diamonds
Hair: Tukinowaguma, Candy (black)

Mashooka Design: A Taste Of The East

Mashooka Designs is a brand that I modeled for at the beginning of May for a show that was done by Ewing Fashion Agency. I have to admit, I had not had much experience with this brand other than having heard its name and but since the show, I have definitely become a fan!

Aradhana Voight, the designer for Mashooka Designs, has a gorgeous lineup of outfits which includes Indian Saris as well as non-Indian outfits. What I loved about her outfits is that all of her non-Indian outfits had the same rich colours and gorgeous texture as her Indian saris, giving her outfits a very high quality image as well as a uniqueness with which her designs could be identified with.

This Nene Dress is a good example. The red used here is very rich and the texture is like silky velvet with great shading. It has some gold embroidery which gives that ethnic touch and high quality look. The black lace is an undershirt layer and the outfit can be worn without this.

The show I was in for Mashooka Designs was, in fact, one that comemorated its second anniversay and new sim opening. On its new sim, the brand is housed in a grand building which is separated with a teleport landing point in the center. One side is dedicated to more ethnic outfits while the other side houses more regular outfits and gowns. The sim also has a lovely garden area with an open air theater which is where the show was held.

Gold jewelry matches this outfit very well and used ones I had from RYCA.

Outfit: Mashooka Designs, Nene Dress (red)
Bangles: RYCA, Texture Changing Bangle (gold)
Earrings: RYCA, B-Chandelier Earing Gold
Nails: Persona, Polished Nails (live red)
Shoes: Adam n Eve Shoes, Classique (deep red)
Hair: Tukinowaguma, Katharine (ebony)

A New Couture Brand Maimai

Miamai is a new couture brand with monica Outlander as the designer. Although monica is still new in the couture scene, she has 3D and texture designing skills from RL which makes her a very eligible new designer in SL.

Miamar already has a vast array of items ranging from skins, formal wear, men's wear, casual wear and lingerie which was further expanded by a new cyber line that she just introduced a few days ago.

Miamai - Catatonia Blue

Here I am wearing Catatonia Blue. A slightly grundge dress that has an interesting combination of soft flexi skirts but with very high quality leather texture for the bodice. The skirt has a very interesting texture with a large slit on the right. This is a dress that is so flexible in its look depending on how it is styled, allowing the wearer to style it dressy, goth or grunge.

I matched it with black pumps with red soles playing on the small amount of red that is in the dress texture and short slightly shaggy hair. I styled it slightly grunge but only enough to still allow me to wear this to nice smart casual occasions.

For jewelry, I am wearing Noel Red from R. A. Crystal, a Japanese jewelry store that had this choker that is elegantly Gothic with a crystal that has a little bit of red in the gem colour.

Outfit: Miamai, Catatonia Blue
Choker: R. A. Crystal, Noel Red
Earrings: R. A. Crystal, Grace Earrings
Pumps: Digit Darkes, Sleek Heel Black
Hair: Sadistic Hacker, Corvus (black)

A Gown Called "Fierce"

Journey McLaglen, the designer for Prism Haute Couture, has just released a new gown called "Fierce." Unlike the image you get from this name, the gown is nothing but stunning, amazing, eye-catching AND one of the most elegant gowns I have seen.

Prism Haute Couture - Fierce

Yes it is "fierce" in that the texture pattern is of a zebra and panther, all in black and white. The zebra pattern is used on the left of the entire gown while the panther is used on the right and the two mesh with each other in the center in what is like a zig-zag form. Then gown itself has a very simple silhouette with the hem of the skirt being longer on one side.

This is a gown that looks awesome standing still as well as with movement as you see the soft flexi prims of the skirt bounce and twirl as you move. Since I have worn this, I have had two people IM me about the gown in just an hour, which does not happen that often, and also had a photographer comment how gorgeous the gown was.

I can simply say, you get noticed in this gown!

I used this hair from a Japanese hair designer, ADKing Aeon of 'Glitter', called Lala. This was one updo that was similarly both fierce as well as elegant that matched the image of this gown so perfectly. I just could not see myself wearing a regular updo as the gown had so much impact that any regular updo will just be too boring.

On the other hand, I didn't wear much jewelry with this as both the whole texture and the zig-zag pattern in the front and back had enough impact that adding anything more to this would be an insult to this great design. So I simply added some drop type pearl earrings and that was enough.

Black and white outfits usually can look quite stunning when a little bit of 'red' is added. So here I wore a new Candace Skin with deep red lips from Genesis and also a pair of black high heels from Digit Darkes that has bright red soles. This is quite effective as you can see glimpse of red through the skirt as you walk. A subtle but elegant way of adding red without spoiling the design. Needless to say, nails should be red too.

Outfit: Prism Haute Couture, Fierce
Earrings: PISA Jewelry Shop, Drop Pearl Ruby Diamond Earrings
Nails: Celestial Studio, Lulu Fingernails (Dark Red)
Shoes: Digit Darkes, Sleek Heel (Black)
Hair: Glitter, LALA (Black)
Skin: Genesis, Candace Apple "Redgrave"

A Lovely Purple Gown From My Precious

My Precious, where Agnes Finney is the owner and designer, has always been in my mind as a store that had a lot of pink and red. But the store is apparently changing! She now has her own sim that houses a huge store as well as an event space and a separate area for bridal needs. The moment you step in, you can see so many other colours besides the red and the pinks that she had always been known for.

I found this purple gown there which was one of such gowns.

My Precious - Vera Amethyst

It is an elegant silky gown with lace texture around the hem of a ballroom skirt as well as gloves and comes with a ribbon tied at the back. The top is a halter type top which leaves the back all bare.

Maybe it's coming from my childhood days when I dreamt of being a princess as I watched videos of Snow White and Cinderella, but a ribbon at the back is something that makes me smile for no particular reason. For me, it was something that ALL princess gowns had to have in my fantasies.

Since the colour of the gown is quite strong, I didn't want to use gems or colours for jewelry so I matched some pearl jewelry I had from a Japanese store called PISA. It is a jewelry store that specializes in classic Italian jewelry designs and the prim work by its creator, Emi Woller, is absolutely amazing. The jewelry I got here are great to add that bit of classic elegance to any outfit so I thought it would be perfect to use them with this gown. Now I can enjoy the lovely impact this purple has and also add some classic elegance to balance it out.

The hair is one I have used before. "Kay ver2" from R's Hair Style, which goes really well with big ballroom gowns especially.

Outfit: My Precious, Vera Amethyst
Necklace: Jewelry Shop PISA, Drop Pearl NC 2ren
Earrings: Jewelry Shop PISA, Drop Pearl Earrings
Bracelet: Jewelry Shop PISA, Pearl Diamond Lace Bracelet
Hair: R's Hair Style, Kay ver2 (black)
Skin: *This is a discontinued skin from Minnu

A Sweet Flower Dress: New Release From "a la folie"

"A la folie" had always been one of my favorite brands. It's a store I turn to when ever I want a pretty dress and feel girly. pixivor Allen, designer of "a la folie," has just released a lovely dress called 'Rose Tull.' She has three colour variations in her store nad they all have both prim and printed flowers....and lots of them. The gown itself is a very feminine design too as all of her other outfits. Being a RL artist who loves to paint flowers a lot, pixivor definitely knows how to create great looking prim flowers as well as draw flowers very well.

a la folie - Rose Tull

The tiny sleeves that sit on the upper arms, the bare shoulders, belts and necklaces that are made of flower stems, the soft tulle used for the skirt, the silky top all help to make this gown a very sweet and lovely outfit. 'Rose Tull' comes with the necklace, earrings and bracelet as well as the belt you see in the pics. But that's not all. It also comes with shoes to match the dress which is not purple but pale yellow. In fact, I was a bit surprised as I was expecting to see a similar coloured pair of shoes as the dress but once you wore the yellow shoes, it matched with the overall flowery image of the gown.

I matched it with a hair from Adored Clothing and Hair, which is a store that sells both outfits and hair as the name suggests. This one I am wearing is a very loose up do that has flowers in the back of the up do. You select the colour of the flower you with to wear and then click on the hair to change the hair colour.

As you can see from the pic above, I think pixivor makes one of the best flowers in SL which can only come from her love of flowers in RL.

Hair: Adored Clothing and Hair, Cara Color Changing Hair (coal)

Introducing An Incredible New Designer

Kariwanz Felisimo had only had her store opened for 2 weeks when I found her store in an amazing sim created by a Japanese lady, Sweetlemon Jewell, called Omega Point. My jaws had already dropped the moment I arrived to this 'open sim'. Yes, it was an OPEN sim which means she only had 3750 prims to work with and she had created a world of Final Fantasy!

Then my jaws dropped further when I entered KWZ. A brand new store that had just opened and yet the quality of the vendor posters, the displays and the outfits that were sold were simply.....O....M....G!

KWZ - Anje Cherry in Omega Point

At that time (about 2 months ago), I introduced her to Modavia and the she was immediately sought as a new designer that must be introduced in the Modavia Fashion Directory. After Modavia, she was featured in the last issue of RUNWAY Magazine too (April 09 issue) right before it had its unfortunate closing.

But what more can I say? I have no words that can describe the surprise this new designer gave me with the quality of her design and work.

Anje Cherry is one of her latest releases. The amazingly detailed texture Kariwanz is so good at, is used here also and the colour of the gown which is neither pink nor orange nor brick nor peach....a very sensitive peach-ish colour that also caught my eye.

I cannot even describe this but all I can say is.....you have GOT to come visit Omega Point sim and KWZ even just to see what amazing work these two Japanese ladies have done with an open sim and dress creations.

Here, I used the Noir line of Lion Skins, which is actually SU based but made to look a little goth like. I like using this skin when I want a bit of mysterious feel in the look but not completely goth. I would even call this 'fashion goth' separating it from the goth skins that are in the market.

Outfit: KWZ, Anje Cherry
Earrings: +plus*, Black Pearl Earrings (dark gold)
Hair: Curious Kitties, Loehinyd Queen Hair (blackish)
Skin: Lion Skins, Noir 19

Pink For The Sakura Season

The Sakura, or cherry blossom, season is almost over where I live but you can still see cherry trees that have nothing but pale pink delicate flowers that create baby pink trees that simply look devine if you travel north. These flowers are so lovely but short lived and a full pink tree can only be enjoyed for about a week or even shorter if it rains. People in Japan endure the long cold winter awaiting for this god sent sign of spring and try to savour the short period of sakura flowers as much as they can by having parties and picnics under the pink trees while it lasts.

I wanted to wear something pink which is the colour of sakura flowers and found just the right one in one of the gown collections from Sascha's Designs.

Sascha's Designs - Marce Pink (cocktail dress)

'Marce' in pink was the name of this lovely gown which not only has long ballroom gown skirts, but it also comes with a cocktail skirt, sleek flexi skirt, fluffy flexi skirt and a battleship gown skirt to allow a flexible look depending on where and when you wear the outfit.

Marce Pink (sleek flexi skirt)

Marce Pink (fluffy flexi gown skirt)

Marce Pink (battleship gown skirt)

Here I matched it with 'Sakura' from si*na Jewelry. The creator of this most lovely piece of jewelry, sinamon Loon created, a set of necklace and earrings that are made only with sakura flowers. I had already shown this once in my blog but this was so perfect especially at this time of the year.

I also wore a skin from Lion Skins that had pink makeup to match the whole pink look.

Outfit: Sascha's Designs, Marce (pink)
Necklace & Earrings: si*na Jewelry, Sakura
Shoes: Maitreya, ChiChi Pumps (pastel pink)
Hair: Tukinowaguma, Fiamma (black)
Skin: Lion Skins, SU Fair #32
